How the Product comparison is calculated
Method version products-v1 · Last updated
In short
The product comparison puts one of your products next to the equivalent product of each competitor. Claude extracts the key figure and up to twelve facts from your product page or file, searches each competitor's own website for the closest equivalent, and reads it with the same fact labels. After your approval the products are re-read every month; any change becomes a signal.
Formula
Rows = your product's fact labels, then labels only competitors have Change = a different key figure or fact value (by label) than at the previous read
How it is calculated, step by step
- Read your product page, menu or file (Excel, CSV, PDF) and extract the key figure, summary and up to 12 facts.
- For each competitor, search its own website for the equivalent product and propose it with a reason.
- Read the proposal with your product's fact labels so the rows line up.
- You approve, reject or replace each proposal; approved products are re-read monthly and compared.
