How the Visibility per product, with next steps is calculated
Method version visibility-v2 · Last updated
In short
Visibility per product shows, for every product or service in your market profile, where you stand in Google and in AI answers compared with your competitors, and what to do next. Actavero matches the searches and the AI questions to your products itself: Google keywords are sorted into your product lines, and the questions asked to AI assistants are written per product. So you get a clear report per product without doing keyword or prompt research.
Formula
Google share per product = your share of the estimated clicks on the keywords sorted into that product line (see SEO per product cluster) AI share per product = your share of the brand mentions in AI answers to the questions about that product (see GEO share of voice) Next steps (up to 3, by expected effect): the biggest keyword gap; being named less often than a competitor in AI answers; a keyword you can push from 4–10 into the top 3; a Google AI Overview that cites others while you rank on page one
How it is calculated, step by step
- Take the product lines from the market profile (written automatically, editable under Company & competitors).
- Sort every measured Google keyword into a product line, and ask AI assistants questions per product.
- Calculate the Google and AI shares per product for every tracked brand.
- Derive the next steps per product from the gaps and rank them by expected visits.
What goes into it
- Product lines
- The products and services in your market profile.
- Keywords and AI answers
- The SEO and GEO measurements of the month.
Data sources
- DataForSEO (Google keywords and results pages), Claude (sorting keywords, writing and asking the questions, with web search).
How often it is updated
With every SEO and GEO measurement: monthly, plus on-demand measurements in your plan.
How to read it
- A product where a competitor leads both in Google and in AI answers is the clearest place to act.
- Leading in Google but not in AI answers usually means your pages rank but aren't quoted: add direct answers, prices and comparisons.
Example
Mortgage loans: Google 30% (#1), AI answers 12% (KBC named most with 31%). Next steps: rank for 'rentevoet hypothecaire lening' (+216 visits), strengthen the mortgage pages with direct answers so AI assistants name you, move 'hypotheek simulatie' from #6 into the top 3.
Limitations
- The product lines come from the market profile; a product missing there gets no report of its own.
- AI answers vary between questions and over time; look at the trend rather than one month.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to choose keywords or prompts?
No. Actavero finds the searches and writes the AI questions per product from your market profile. You can adjust the products and questions there if you want.
Related
- SEO per product cluster — Every search keyword is sorted into one of your product lines, General or Not your market; share of voice is then calculated per product, and Not your market doesn't count.
- GEO share of voice (AI answers) — Your share of brand mentions in AI answers to a fixed set of buyer questions, asked monthly to Claude with web search; a citation of your own site counts extra.
- Keyword gap — Keywords where a competitor ranks in Google's top 10 and you don't, sorted by the extra visits per month you would get at the best competitor's position.
- Google results page: AI Overviews and special blocks — For your 100 most-searched relevant non-branded keywords: which special blocks Google shows (AI Overview, People also ask, map, …), which brands its AI Overview cites, who else takes the top 10, and where to focus.
